JARDEN HOME BRANDS “BALL AWARDS” Jarden Home Brands, makers of Ball® and Kerr® FreshPreservingTM Products, is proud to recognize today’s fresh preserving (canning) enthusiasts. First and Second Place Awards will be given to those individuals judged as the best in designated categories. To qualify, entries must be preserved using Ball® or Kerr® or Collection Elite® jars, rings and flats. Products requiring pectin must provide proof of purchase for Ball® pectin upon entry in the fair. The two best entries submitted by an adult for each of (1)Fruit, (2)Vegetable, (3)Pickle, and (4)Soft Spread Categories that qualify will receive the “Ball Award” for that category.
2008 WILTON FAIR AWARD GUIDELINES Wilton Enterprises is pleased to help support your fair in the Decorated Cakes Division. Wilton "Best of Class" awards are offered for winning cakes with some type of bag and tip or rolled fondant cake decorating. If your fair has two separate age divisions, i.e., Junior and Adult, we will award one "Best of Class" award for each age division. If you have one division, we will award one "Best of Class". Only one "Best of Class" award is available for each division, adult or junior. "Best of Class" winners may choose one of the following awards:
Wilton will also award one current "Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating" for each 1st prize winner in all cake decorating categories. Only five Yearbooks will be awarded to junior division and five Yearbooks to adult division. All "Best of Class" winners always receive a Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating along with their choice of "Best of Class" prize. There is no need to list your "Best" winner as a 1st prize winner. Therefore, five additional 1st prize Colorado Quilt Council Awards At the judge’s discretion the Colorado Quilt Council may make two ribbons awards: The Colorado Award of Excellence and the Judge’s Choice Award. The Colorado Quilt Council will also award a Ribbon and a $25 premium to a first time Quilt Exhibitor. The Royal Gorge Quilt Council The Artisan Award, monetary award of $25, will be presented to a quilted item using any technique or combination 4-H SPECIAL AWARDS Ralph Taylor Award: Presented to an outstanding 4-H member who has given his or her time to help make the fair a success. Nominations can be made by submitting a letter of recommendation to the fair board. High Point Open Exhibitor: Presented to the open fair exhibitor who accumulated the highest number of points. Herdsman Award: Presented to a club who keeps their livestock areas clean, and meet other criteria of friendliness and cooperation. Fur & Feather Award: It will be awarded to the club which best meets the herdsman standards. A committee will check the caging areas several times a day and base their decision on the herdsman standards. Outstanding Home Economics Award: Presented to the 4-H member who has accumulated the highest number of points in the home economics area. Wrangler Award: Presented to a club whose members have been outstanding in the care of their animals and shown courtesy towards others. |
